3D Printing

My journey into 3D Printing started back in February.  I received a new promotional email from RadioShack.  The last video in a series was of Jason from Friday the 13th.  It had Jason using a device to print out a copy of one of the employee's house key.  It was a hilarious commercial, I think I watched that commercial three times just for the laughs but something about that machine stuck in my head and I wanted to learn more...

About a week later, I thought it would be cool to have that machine.  I went to RadioShack's website to find out what that device was. A 3D printer!  The cost was way too much, just under $2,000. I think that would make it the most expensive thing that RadioShack has ever sold.  I don't know how your financial situations are but, I'm not buying that!  So I started searching the Internet for a cheaper more affordable printer cause, "I'm not paying a lot for that muffler".  Looking up different models, check out the reviews and compare the prices.  A lot of them, I would say 70%, were crap!  Either breaks down after a little while, over-priced desk ornaments, no real customer support for issues or a hassle waiting for parts from overseas.  Not something that I would feel confident about purchasing. So I gave up!

I thought about it for two more days. Then it dawned on me, "If I can't buy it, can I build it!?"   YES YOU CAN!!  And that sparked my research into 3D Printing.  Once I adjusted my focus from buying a printer to building one, I began to get better results.  I ran across YouTube videos, a few images here and there of people showing what they have created with their printers', which made me want one even more.

After a few days I realized that there were different type and designs of printers.  Now I have to do a little research on each design.  Find articles and videos on people who have done reviews on certain models, so I can find one that fits me.

Which one do I choose….?
